Many women shudder at the thought of putting on high heels when they’re with child. Not Beyonce.
In the latest issue of People magazine (the one that named her the world’s most beautiful woman), the pop star and new mom revealed that she strapped on heels and did her hair before giving birth to her baby, Blue Ivy, in January.
"I tried my best to roller-set my hair, and I wore my gloss when I arrived at the hospital," she said. "I committed to the end and wore my kitten heels."
The stiletto loving star has since changed. She said her feet are “a lot rougher” since giving birth. She now favors flats, and husband, Jay-Z, approves.
"I never thought there would be a day when I wouldn’t wear heels, but now that I have a child and I walk around holding her all day, I’m buying loafers and oxfords," she said. "[Jay-Z] loves when I wear flat shoes, which is surprising — he never saw me in flats!"
No matter the height of her shoes, Beyonce’s staying on top of the trends. Recently, she was spotted carrying Blue Ivy in a gray faux-fur sling that could easily have been mistaken for a stole to match the singer’s outfit.
'It wasn't hurtful, it was just crazy,' she tells People in the magazine’s Most Beautiful issue.

Back in October, Beyoncé shot down a rumor that she was wearing a fake baby bump after an appearance on an Australian talk show. When Beyoncé sat down for the interview, it appeared that the bump deflated, prompting many to wonder if the pop singer was really pregnant or faking it.
Now, months after the birth of her daughter, Blue Ivy, Beyoncé is talking to People magazine, about the gossip. “That was crazy. It wasn’t hurtful, it was just crazy,” she says in the Most Beautiful issue, in which she was named the world’s Most Beautiful Woman, TVGuide.com reports. “[I thought] ‘Where did they come up with this?’ It was a fabric that folded — does fabric not fold? Oh my gosh, so stupid.”
The chitchat didn’t just bother Beyoncé. Her mother also opened up about the allegations in the interview, adding, “I thought it was very unfair and very cruel that someone would think that someone would be that diabolical to keep up a charade like that for nine months. As a mother, it was painful for me to hear the crazy rumors. And I even had people ask me, which was so ridiculous.”
In the magazine, out now, Queen B addressed not only the baby bump controversy, but also her commitment to being sexy, even at nine months. “I committed to the end and wore my kitten heels. It makes me laugh thinking about it,” she said. “But after many hours of labor, I didn’t care how I looked. It was all about the miracle that God gave me — the opportunity to deliver a human being.”
Those 4 a.m. feedings and dirty diaper changes apparently haven’t taken their toll on Beyonce Knowles. The performer and new mom snagged the top spot on People’s annual list of the most genetically gifted, beating out, among others, Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lopez (last year’s cover girl), “Mad Men” star Jessica Pare, and a bevy of beautiful men, including reigning Sexiest Man Alive Bradley Cooper, Ashton Kutcher and David Beckham.
"I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth," she tells People. "I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth."
Beyonce, who returns to the stage Memorial Day weekend for a series of concerts to open Atlantic City’s newest casino resort, Revel, says the best thing about giving birth to her daughter is having a legacy. “The word ‘love’ means something completely different now.”
The website also highlights gorgeous ladies of style (Zoe Saldana, Emma Stone and Diane Kruger among them); beautiful woman at all ages (from “The Descendants” star Shailene Woodley, 20, and Adele, 23, to Mary Steenburgen, 59, and Anjelica Huston, 60); and a 10 highly attractive women who don’t have a fleet of make-up artists, hairstylists and plastic surgeons at their beck and call, i.e., non-celebrities.
Are Beyoncé and Jay-Z already ready for another baby? Their firstborn, daughter Blue Ivy Carter, is just 3 months old, but the new parents are allegedly planning to be as prolific with producing kids as they are with putting out albums.
“They see no reason to wait,” a Star source claims. “Beyoncé has said giving birth and dropping the baby weight was far easier than she thought. Everyone in their circle is saying that another baby could be on the way before you know it.”
“It took them a while to conceive Blue Ivy, so they don’t want to waste another second,” reveals the insider.
OK, but what if their second kid doesn’t succeed in scoring a credit on a Top 40 hit within the first week of his or her life? Are they going to be disappointed?
Even new moms have to get their dance on! And Beyoncé did just that Friday night. She joined younger sister Solange and two female friends for a girls’ night out at New York City's W.I.P. nightclub. The quartet let loose on the dance floor and jived to the club's mix of disco, ’90s and hip-hop music.
"Beyoncé looked amazing and was having a great time with her friends," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "She was very laid back, smiling and in a great mood."
Off the dance floor, Beyoncé, who gave birth todaughter Blue Ivy Carter just three and a half months ago, chatted and shared some laughs with her pals while sipping on vodka drinks at a corner VIP booth. At one point, Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr. came to the table to say hello. The girls night out wrapped up around 3 a.m.
Yeezy made a slightly delusional comment about his new boo, Kim Kardashian. Buddy said that she is his Beyonce. We’re not sure what that means but if he’s comparing the two, then Kanye definitely caught the short end of the stick.
Here are 10 reasons Kimmy Cakes has nothing on Bey Bey.
Beyonce Spotted Leaving Adult Education Building In NYC
After visiting her sister Solange’s pad in Brooklyn yesterday, Beyonce was spotted out in NYC once again, but this time heading to an educational building in Midtown. Minus baby Blue Ivy, Beyonce was captured with a binder in hand heading into the W. 35th Street Alternative Education Complex.
Decked out in mesh fishnet stockings, shorts, Isabel Marant sneakers and a cardigan, the songstress hid her face and dodged paparazzi flashes with some protection from bodyguard Julius.
Being that Beyonce and her mom did open the Beyoncé Cosmetology Center at the Phoenix House Career Academy in Brooklyn 2 years ago, could this mean that a second location is in the works? Similar to the Phoenix House Career Academy, the W. 35th Street Alternative Education Complex is a part of New York’s Office of Adult and Continuing Education. It offers adult basic education along with career and technical education training.
Since the two individually overexposed figures combined forces as a maybe-couple about two weeks ago, media outlets have run wild trying to flesh out everything from shopping sprees to romantic dinners to jaunts to Paris.
But one particular claim, that West was calling Kardashian “his Beyonce,” according to Us Weekly, did not sit well with the “Watch the Throne” rapper.
"Of course there are a lot of media inaccuracies surrounding this past couple of weeks, especially the ‘She’s my Beyonce’ quote," West told the magazine, refuting its original report.
For those not familiar with the man behind the “Throne,” the significance of the comparison was that Beyonce is a longtime friend of Kanye’s who also happens to be the wife of mentor and frequent collaborator Jay-Z.
"I would never compare anyone to my friend’s wife," he added.
We’re inclined to believe him, given that he cared enough to interrupt Taylor Swift's 2009 MTV Video Music Awards acceptance speech and infamously declare Beyonce's fabulous also-ran “Single Ladies” music video “one of the best videos of all time.”
You can’t fake that kind of reverence, even up against the ample assets of a Kim Kardashian.
