As this year marks the 20th anniversary of Mathew Knowles’ Music World Entertainment, the industry titan is showing no signs of halting the label’s track record of success. In recent weeks, Beyonce’s dad premiered his international reality television show, “Breaking From Above,” in America as part of a joint venture with MTV International. The series, which initially aired last November in 160 countries, follows Knowles’ latest girl group, From Above, as they navigate the mogul’s artist development program.

During a recent interview with The Huffington Post, the Fisk University graduate and former Xerox executive opened up on his latest foray into unscripted television, and offered some details on the release of two new Destiny’s Child albums and his love for his grandchildren, Juelz and Blue Ivy.

This year also marks the 20th anniversary of Music World. What are your plans to ensure that you’ll be successful for years to come?

We have to be realistic. At Music World we got to shift our direction and certainly stay in music. We’ve grown our Music World Gospel to the fifth largest Gospel label in America. But again, even for the label, we got to partner up. It’s similar to what’s happening in corporate America back in the ’80s. You saw a lot of mergers and acquisitions. We have to be smart in who we can partner with to do it better. We still have our joint venture with Sony and in November we’re putting out two Destiny’s Child catalog records with new material. So we’re going to start doing strategic things like that.

New material meaning previously unreleased tracks?

It’s all released material with some previously unreleased material.

Will there be a Destiny’s Child reunion tour to complement the two projects?

Not on the first release. It takes a year of planning to do these tours, but first it starts with the artist wanting to do it. And I think the ladies are still working happily in their solo careers. And I hope in the next five years that there is a reunion tour. I think it would be incredible. The hardest thing would be choosing which songs they’re going to do, because we would want to mix it up with solo hits and Destiny’s Child hits. We would have to throw away some number ones from off the set list [Laughs].

Destiny’s Child is one of the eight girl groups that you’ve managed in your career. In your opinion, what does it take to put together a successful girl group?

Unfortunately they all weren’t successful, I wish I could say that [Laughs]. But I think with girl groups it’s all about the relationships that the members have with each other. It really boils down to that. And then the second thing is each member accepting what their role in the group is. Followed by great songs, work ethics and talents.

Earlier this year your granddaughter, Blue Ivy, was born. How does it feel to have your first granddaughter in the family?

Blue Ivy is a special gift, so nothing but love. The same goes to Juelz, my grandson. So I’m a proud grandpapa.

‘I just stared at her,’ Rowland tells E! News about Blue Ivy Carter.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s little girl, Blue Ivy Carter, is already getting lots of attention from her aunties. B’s Destiny’s Child sister Kelly Rowland recently gushed about the nearly one-month-old, sharing what it was like to meet her for the first time.

“She’s absolutely beautiful!” Rowland told E! News about her pal’s new bundle of joy. “And I say that with such a huge grin! I’m so excited.

“We all just stared at her,” she added about meeting the baby for the first time. “I just stared at her. She is so beautiful.”

So what did she buy the baby? “That’s between me and Blue,” she said. “But you best believe her auntie will have her dressed to impress.”

That sentiment was mirrored by Beyoncé’s little sister, Solange, who had tons of adoring words for her baby niece. “This may sound awful, but I’m excited to let the baby do whatever it wants in the same way my sister’s done with my son,” she said. “I’m going to get her back for all those late-night popcorn sessions and just spoiling my child to no end!”

While Rowland isn’t talking about what she gave Blue, MTV News did recently get the scoop on the types of baby products the famous kid may have gotten from her parents’ friends and family. When Andrea Edmunds, the president of PoshTots, stopped by our offices recently, she revealed that Blue may been hanging out in a Destiny iron cradle, angora booties and the Fantasy Coach Carriage crib.

Much like her parents, Blue is already a music star, thanks to an appearance on her dad’s track “Glory.” “She was on her dad’s record,” Rowland laughed. “Her first feature is, like, two days old! So yeah, she’s musical.”

We always knew Beyonce totally rocked at being a single lady. Not only did she get the biggest name in hip-hop to put a ring on it, but she looked better in a leotard than we ever will. After years as an independent woman, it seems like Bey’s now proving she’s just as awesome at being a parent. As if we expected anything else!

It’s been just over a week since Beyonce and Jay-Z took baby Blue Ivy Carter home. Bey’s Destiny’s Child band mate Michelle Williams says she’s already settling into the role of mum, though. “She’s doing fabulous,” Michelle told People at the 2012 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Honours in Washington D.C.

Michelle continued to gush, saying she thinks Beyonce has exactly what it takes to be a brilliant mum, because “she has such compassion for people and humanity, period.” BFF and X Factor judge Kelly Rowland agreed, saying, “She was born to be a mother. She’s wonderful.” Aww!

You’d think with all this praise the girls knew all along that Beyonce would be the first with a Destiny’s Child child, but apparently not. “We were very shocked. We were laughing with each other the other day and she was like, ‘Can y’all believe it? I was the anti – like no children for me,’ and she’s the first one [of us to have a baby],” Michelle said. “So it was so amazing to see her.”

Judging by the girls’ comments and reports that Kelly was seen shopping for baby-grows at a kid’s boutique in New York, we’re guessing the baby shower has happened without us. Our invite probably got lost in the post… *sob*

Kelly Rowland has revealed that Beyonce’s pregnancy is not making her feel broody because of the pain of labour.

The ‘Motivation’ singer is freaked out by the idea that she would have to push out a baby, so she’ll just stick to babysitting duties for her former bandmate for now.

Kelly, 30, insists that she wants children one day but for the time being she will help out changing diapers but give the baby (which she revealed would be a girl) at the end of the day.

In the January issue of Marie Claire magazine, Kelly was asked if she was getting a little broody, and she said: “No. I will babysit and change a diaper or two, and then give it back.”

The X Factor judge continued: “I do want kids. But every time I think about a little person growing inside of me and getting bigger and bigger and then having to come out…a watermelon coming out of something the size of a lemon is insane to me.”

Kelly also revealed that it was her strict diet and exercise regime that keeps her in good shape, but she won’t eat anything after 7pm. “My friends hate that about me,” she explained.

“They all want to go out to eat around 9pm and I’m like, ‘Er, unless I’m going to wait three hour for this to digest, I’d rather not.’”

Wow - she eats really early, perhaps that’ll be a new year’s resolution for us!

Hope Aunt Kelly’s not in big trouble now with Sasha Fierce!

Kelly Rowland accidentally revealed the gender of pregnant Beyonce’s baby-to-be to Us Weekly at the Cosmopolitan Awards in London Thursday night.

Rowland dished to Us about her Destiny’s Child bandmate’s pregnancy — and what she might get for the baby at the baby shower.

“I don’t know,” Rowland, 30, said, referring to the unborn child as “her.” “I think her dad [Jay-Z] is gonna give her everything anyways, all I can give her is love.”

Will the child of multimillionaires Beyonce and Jay-Z — who are reportedly building a 2,200 square-foot nursery at their NYC pad — be spoiled?

“I think she’ll be very well behaved,” Rowland replied, once again using the feminine “she. “Her parents will make sure of that.”

(Indeed, a source previously told Us that Beyonce asked pals for pink Louboutin baby booties for her child, due in February.)

“Motivation” singer Rowland added that she gets a “weekly” update from her pregnant pal (who she’s known since childhood) — and she’s ready to babysit, thanks to Beyonce’s younger sister Solange Knowles, who has a son, Julez. “I’m good with messy diapers,” she joked. “Solange made me do Julez’s messy diapers. I’m good with that.”

Pregnant singer Beyonce Knowles thinks Kelly Rowland would be a ”fantastic mum” even though she’s not ready to become a parent just yet.

Beyonce Knowles thinks Kelly Rowland would be a “fantastic mum”.

The 30-year-old singer - who is expecting her first child with husband Jay-Z - knows her former Destiny’s Child bandmate isn’t ready to have kids just yet but thinks her friend would be a great parent when she eventually settles down.

She said: “You know Kelly loves kids, and she will 100 per cent be a mum in the future. She is a busy girl at the moment, but when she feels the time is right and she’s done what she wants, then she is going to make a fantastic mum.”

Beyonce and Kelly speak almost every day and the ‘Run the World (Girls)’ hitmaker admits they advise one another on every aspect of their lives.

She told new! magazine: “We speak and text all the time. With me being pregnant, she is always checking up on me to see how I am doing. We have known each other for so long, we are like sisters. She isn’t just somebody I was in a group with, this girl is my family.

“We both call each other for advice. We were 16 when we started out in this industry together and know all there is to know about each other. It’s not just about work, we advise each other about everything.”

Although the ladies of Destiny’s Child have all gone on to solo careers and found measurable success, the songstresses still share a strong bond amongst them and have been supportive of one another over the years. This fact was proven yet again while Kelly Rowland was a guest last Friday (July 29) on entertainment television program Access Hollywood – and a certain globetrotting diva had a special message for the “Motivation” singer.

Global superstar Beyoncé, a friend and musical partner of Kelly Rowland since the pair were young girls in Houston, sent in a pre-taped video message to the show and offered loving support to Kelly as she promotes her third solo album Here I Am. “My Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, I love you so much. I’m so proud of you, your album is incredible. I’m so happy I just got to see you in Paris, I mean London, we had so much fun. And I’m very proud of you and all of your success, you’re such a beautiful woman and I can’t wait to see you again,” said Beyoncé.

Kelly Rowland blinked back tears, but then let hosts Billy Bush and actress Tisha Campbell inside the tight knit Destiny’s Child circle revealing that the trio still see each other although their recent reunion at Kelly’s album release party in NYC was their most recent time together with all parties present. Kelly also revealed that while the girls are very close that they still haven’t made plans to reunite as a group.
