May 13 is set to be an extra special day for the Knowles family.

On January 7, Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z welcomed daughter Blue Ivy Carter—meaning Sunday will be the singer’s first time celebrating Mother’s Day as a mom herself.

At a charity event in NYC Wednesday, Blue Ivy’s grandma Tina Knowles opened up to Us Weekly about the Knowles’ big weekend plans.

“[We’re] all going to be together,” Knowles gushed to Us. “We’re excited because it’s Beyonce’s first Mother’s Day.”

On their agenda?

“I’m hoping to cook! I want to cook,” the House of Dereon designer shared. “My traditional soul food and maybe gumbo. That’s my favorite dish!”

Knowles also spoke about her daughter’s breathtaking Met Gala appearance Monday night.

“She looked amazing,” Knowles told Us about the Grammy Winner’s lacy, Givenchy Haute Couture gown. “I think she looked absolutely amazing.”

During her quick walk on the Met Gala red carpet (the singer arrived after other A-listers had already headed inside), Beyonce, 30, stopped for a quick chat with Entertainment Tonight about her plans to give Blue a sibling or two.

“I definitely want to have more [kids],” the chanteuse revealed. “I don’t know how many. God knows. I don’t know yet.”

Added the star about her new life as a mom, “I feel like now I know the reason that I was born.”

(NewsCore) - New mom Beyonce is among a group of designers who think President Barack Obama should stay in the White House — and the superstar has designed a T-shirt to support his re-election campaign.

Beyonce collaborated with her mother Tina Knowles, her partner in the House of Dereon fashion line, on the crew neck tee, that went on sale Thursday for $45.

The superstar — who with husband Jay-Z has just celebrated the birth of their first child, daughter Blue Ivy — is one of more than 20 designers who created accessories for the “Runway To Win” effort, organized by Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of American Vogue.

Proceeds from the sale of the designer duds will benefit the Obama Victory Fund 2012.

Designers Tory Burch, Marc Jacobs and Michelle Obama favorites Derek Lam and Jason Wu also contributed designs for the fundraising effort.

Beyoncé’s parents, Tina and Mathew Knowles, have finalized their divorce. The couple, who married in 1980, filed for divorce back in 2009. According to TMZ, Tina stated that the marriage ended as a result of “discord or conflict of personalities” which prevented them from “reasonable expectation of reconciliation.”

Both of the Knowles have been instrumental in the successes of their daughters, Beyoncé and Solange. Mathew Knowles managed his daughters’ careers until earlier year, when Beyoncé moved on to new representation from Live Nation. Tina Knowles has worked a stylist for her daughters and co-created the House of Deréon clothing label with Beyoncé.

Tina Knowles can’t wait to say hello to grandchild number two!

“I’m the most excited I can be. This is my second time around,” Knowles, 57, told Us Weekly at Monday’s Angel Ball in NYC. Her eldest daughter Beyonce, of course, is now expecting her first child (with husband Jay-Z); Beyonce’s baby will have an older cousin in 7-year-old Julez, the son of singer Solange Knowles, Tina’s younger daughter.

“She’s going to be an awesome mom,” House of Dereon designer Tina gushed of Beyonce, 30.

One thing the family won’t be revealing until the February birthdate? The baby’s gender. “Yeah, [I know the baby’s gender]. But I’m not telling!”

Meanwhile, the pregnancy is going along quite smoothly. “She had morning sickness,” Knowles revealed. “But she’s over it and she’s doing really good…she’s very busy.”

The “Love on Top” diva’s number-one craving, according to her mom? “Waffles!”

Once the baby arrives, motherhood “will slow her down somewhat,” Tina predicted. “But I think she’ll be the same great person she’s been.”

Dad-to-be Jay-Z (real name: Shawn Carter) is also set to rock out as a parent. “Jay-Z is going to be an awesome,” Tina said of her son-in-law. “They are very, very happy and just glowing, and it’s great to see.”
